Pupusas – A gift from our students to you!

papusaAs you may be aware, a couple of stellar volunteers have been teaching English thru Cooking Classes once a month at the Teo Prinster Learning Center. Next week we are going to reverse the role and student, Carmen Garcia, will teach us how to make pupusas, a Salvadoran stuffed masa flatbread. Pupusas are similar to corn tortillas, only thicker and stuffed with cheese, beans or meat. The pupusa originated in El Salvador, but it is also popular in neighboring Honduras. Pupusas are traditionally made by slapping the dough back and forth between greased palms. If you would like to learn, please join us. Call Martha at 970-945-5282 to register. Class size is limited.
