Literacy Outreach offers life-changing opportunities to empower adults with the essential literacy skills they need to thrive within their communities and in every area of their lives.

Learn with us

Literacy Outreach offers one-on-one, small group, and experiential English language classes and workshops. We also provide citizenship exam tutoring.

Reading, writing, and math classes taught in English are also available.

Volunteer with us

Our volunteer teachers are the heart and soul of our organization! Both native and non-native English speakers, our instructors come from throughout the county and span in age, gender, employment, and teaching experience.

Why Us?

For over 30 years, Literacy Outreach has continued to empower students to grow and thrive by creating a safe, welcoming space where they can learn from their peers. Here, our students don’t just improve their literacy skills—they gain confidence as individuals, family members, and vital members of our community.

“I didn’t do so well in school. I left in seventh grade. With the help of my tutor, I read my first book at the age of 43.”

— Mary, Age 43. Adult Basic Education Student
